Every day you see something interesting. But only once in a long while does something come along to completely freak you out:

Enter the Boston Dynamics Big Dog. I remember when I was little being deathly afraid of my grandparents' dog. And bees. I thought I was over it but I just may have a relapse after watching this.

Apparently the thing can walk over as tough terrain as most people and can carry 350 lbs. and it sounds like freaking BEES! What is scarier than that?

to flip the idea around to an example less likely to defy Asimov's Laws:

This is Tux Droid. A robot shaped like a penguin which makes it almost 10943% better than if it was shaped like a poo. Which is also 4725% cooler than a banjo shaped robot. Seriously. I have graphs to prove it.

Yes the video is a little cheezy and the voice is a little too "Microsoft Sam" to me. But as a little guy that you can bring around the house with you to answer Skype calls, have news items read to you, and listen to music, is pretty cool as a proof of concept. It is open source too so the potential for new applications for it is pretty amazing.
